The Key Features & Innovations of The ALCHEMIST & The MECHANIC Kits
CARBYNE has released its two latest NOGI collections, The ALCHEMIST & THE MECHANIC. As always, Shawn Williams added new innovations and designed the gear for fit, comfort, movement, durability, and performance for grappling practitioners of all levels. The clean and sleek aesthetics with The ALCHEMIST features Black and Gold colors and The MECHANIC has Black with Red accents. Each collection features two rashguard tops and a pair of shorts to form complete, color-coordinated NOGI uniforms.
Both The ALCHEMIST & MECHANIC kits are constructed with fast-wicking, 4-way stretch polyester/spandex materials, flatlock stitching, and fully sublimated designs that never peel. The key differences between the two collections are
- The ALCHEMIST rashguards have a true compression fit that feels like a traditional rashguard for people who want a snug fit for their rashguards. The MECHANIC rashguards feels tight in the arms, shoulders and chest area for uninhibited movement grapplers want, but also have a looser feel around the stomach and waistline. We recognized that some grapplers prefer the tight fit and some grapplers, particularly in heavier weight classes, who want a snug fit up top for uninhibited movement and to show off their muscles, while desiring a looser waist for both looks and performance.
- We have introduced a 2-inch elastic waist band feature with inner draw string for The MECHANIC Shorts that eliminates the need for a Velcro closure. Shawn really wanted to add this feature so grapplers, especially guard players, can grapple without having to deal with a thick closure on the front of the waistline. The removal of Velcro also removes any chance of scuffing your skin or rashguard around the front closure area. The ALCHEMIST shorts have the traditional, over-the-top Velcro closure. The over-the-top closure greatly reduces skin and rashguard scuffing from the Velcro and give the shorts a tight and snug fit for comfort and performance.
